Help Keep Our Special Region of Western Maine Beautiful-
For Now and Generations to Come:
How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful place? Here in western Maine we get to live among the forested mountains, clear waters, and stunning views that define our region, and the many staff and volunteers of Western Foothills Land Trust are grateful to work to protect these places.
Western Foothills Land Trust is proud to serve our community by conserving our native ecosystems, farm and forest lands, watersheds, and scenic views. While many areas in New England face the spread of urban sprawl and loss of natural places, our local environment remains remarkably vibrant and intact. A drive past Lake Pennesseewassee offers a pristine view of Noyes Mountain and, on a clear day, all the way out to Old Speck. A short hike up Hawk Mountain rewards you with panoramic views across the Lakes Region and Oxford Hills. And a paddle through Witt Swamp reveals a stunning mix of northern forest and wetland habitats, teeming with unique plants and wildlife. None of this would be possible without your financial support. Your commitment to our mission sustains the very landscapes and ecosystems that make western Maine so special.
Your gift ensures that our dedicated stewardship team can continue managing over 9,000 acres of conserved land, including 36 miles of public recreational trails. Your support helps protect critical spawning grounds in the Crooked River for landlocked salmon and forested lands that safeguard clean drinking water. Your donation reflects your dedication to preserving our region’s forested landscapes—today and for generations to come.
Thank you for investing in Western Foothills Land Trust, which is an investment in the health, well-being, and resiliency of our human and wild communities in western Maine. Just look around – this is your work, too!
